John Carroll Weekend Seattle 2018

Thanks for making John Carroll Weekend Seattle a success!

Premiering in Seattle for the first time in its 66-year history, this year’s John Carroll Weekend was one for the books, with more than 1,000 alumni, family members, faculty, and friends of the university in attendance!

Throughout the four-day gathering hosted by the Georgetown University Alumni Association, attendees reconnected with friends—new and old, engaged in meaningful dialogues with esteemed faculty and alumni, and explored Seattle’s rich history and picturesque beauty. From astonishing views in Chihuly Garden and Glass to exhilarating tours at Boeing Everett Factory, Seattle was the perfect destination for this year’s John Carroll Weekend, serving as a Hilltop epicenter for art, business, technology, and culture.

Each year brings a new chance to celebrate in a different city. That said, we’re excited to celebrate John Carroll Weekend 2019 from May 2nd to 5th in Boston, Massachusetts!

Stay tuned for more information on next year’s spectacular celebration!

Chihuly Garden and Glass

Thursday, April 12, 6:30-9 p.m.
Chihuly Garden and Glass, 305 Harrison St.

Enjoy exclusive access to one of Seattle’s most exquisite sites, Chihuly Garden and Glass. Under a glittering glass flower display, Georgetown President John J. DeGioia will kick off John Carroll Weekend 2018 with a warm welcome to an evening of laughter, conversation, cocktails, and hors d’oeuvres. Come mingle with inspiring Hoyas amid illuminated glasswork in this vibrant exhibition that pushes artistic boundaries.

Friday, April 13, 6:30-9 p.m.
Block 41, 115 Bell St.

An architectural gem of the hip Belltown neighborhood of Seattle, Block 41 has quickly become one of the most sought-after event venues. Block 41, a 1927 ice warehouse, now blends contemporary luxury with vintage industrial chic to create a unique look, featuring a courtyard garden framed by a mural and a living wall. This architectural standout sets a stimulating scene in which to enjoy refreshments and discuss the day’s programming with your extended Georgetown family.

Bell Harbor International Conference Center

Saturday, April 14, 7-10:30 p.m.
Bell Harbor International Conference Center, 2211 Alaskan Way

The highlight of 2018’s John Carroll Weekend will take place on the shimmering Seattle waterfront. Join Georgetown President John J. DeGioia and Jeff Chapski (B’91), president of the Georgetown University Alumni Association, for a black tie gala to honor six alumni and one friend of the university. Remarks and video tributes will recognize their inspiring generosity, service, and leadership. Enjoy Pacific Northwest cuisine and spectacular views of Elliott Bay and the Seattle skyline.
